Shiites have always faced various challenges and threats, not only against individuals but even against the graves and shrines of the Imams (peace be upon them). Keeping this day alive is a response to this historical oppression.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He emphasized that preserving this symbol reflects resistance against currents that, based on incorrect beliefs, continue to oppose Islamic and Shia values.<\/p>\n<p>Ayatollah Alavi Borujerdi, stressing the importance of this occasion, asked students of religious sciences to suspend their classes on this day in respect for the occasion and to hold mourning gatherings.
